This chapel was an offshoot of Bethania and the foundation stone was laid on May 15 1894 by William Joseph Buckley Esq, JP, of Penyfai (son of James Buckley (1802-83) and Elizabeth Wedge of Penyfai). He was the grandson of James Buckley (1770-1839) and Maria, daughter of Henry Child who established a brewhouse and had been involved in the Methodist Movement.
