First established around 1838 and rebuilt in 1878.

Following the Revival of 1904, Salem Baptist Chapel was formed out of Bethlehem Baptist Chapel in Pwll. Used as a Sunday school Salem was also used for prayer meetings, which were held on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Unfortunately, with the general decline in people attending chapels and Sunday schools, and the considerable cost involved in maintaining and repairing the buildings, Salem was demolished in 1972 and is now the site of a car sales business [2002]
