The original Soar chapel, which was a small thatched building, is thought to have dated back to 1790, the year after the French Revolution. A plaque commemorates the extension that was built on to the first premises in June 1830. Another chapel was built in 1850 and has successfully completed more than 150 years of holding services for its congregation [2002]. See Tabernacle
