Frank Moon

Frank Moon was born at Kelland Lapford, North Devon in 1846.

He entered the service of the West of England and South Wales Bank at their Pontypool Branch in 1866 and remained there for about two years. He was then moved to the Llanelly Branch and in 1872 was transferred to Head Offices at Bristol and Cardiff.

In 1875 Frank Moon was appointed Manager of the Bridgend Branch, a post he held until the Bank went into liquidation.

In 1878 Frank Moon was appointed Cashier of the London & Provincial Bank Ltd., Llanelli Branch, but he resigned in 1879.

In 1879 he accepted an appointment as Manager of the National Bank of Wales and  retained this position until 1893 when the National Bank of Wales was amalgamated with the Metropolitan Bank of England and Wales when he transferred to that Bank, a position he retained until at least 1897.

He was Treasurer of the Bridgend and Cowbridge Union, the Ogmore and Garw District Council, Glyncorrwg Urban District Council, Glyncorrwg and five other School boards in the district besides being Treasurer to 42 other public bodies. He was also Treasurer to the Llanharran and Ystrad Hunt, and when the pack was broken up he received from the Masters a very handsome cup in recognition of his services.
